| Article 7 All members of CHMIA shall be unit members of CHMIA. Article 8 Anyone applying for CHMIA membership must meet the following requirements: 1. Recognize and observe these Articles of Association. 2. State owned, collective owned and private owned enterprises producing products of heavy machinery industry within the territory of the People's Republic of China, research and design institutes, colleges and universities, and distribution companies that have attained certain scale of production and technical power CHMIA may admit Sino-Foreign joint venture enterprises with the Chinese party as the holding party. However, it does not admit overseas legal person and mass organization as its member. Article 9 The following procedures shall be followed in joining CHMIA: 1. Submit an application to its Sub Association, 2. Upon examination and approval of the application by the Executive Council of the Sub Association, the application shall be submitted to CHMIA for the record. 3. CHMIA shall issue a membership certificate to the applicant. Article 10 Rights of Members 1. Have the right to vote and to be voted and the voting power. 2. Enjoy the right to take part in such production, business operation and scientific and technical activities as procurement of supplies, production and marketing, product design, and formulating and implementing enterprise and industry standards. 3. Have priority to obtain information and news in brief, newspapers, magazines and books edited by CHMIA. 4. Have the right to request CHMIA at various levels to provide consulting services in connection with the problems in production, technology, operation and management existing in the enterprise. 5. Participate in the economic and technical activities in the heavy machinery industry and its enterprises. Have right to request CHMIA to organize and coordinate the research of common problems and incorporate them into the working plan of CHMIA through consultation. 6. Have the right to request CHMIA to convey to the Government any important economic and technical problems in connection with heavy machinery industry, enterprises, research institutes and colleges and universities and put forward suggestions in this regard. 7. Have right to criticize, question, propose and supervise the work of CHMIA. 8. Have the right to request CHMIA to provide assistance when a member is involved in major problems that need coordination between different industries or departments or when the member is involved in litigation. 9. Join CHMIA on voluntary basis and quit it at free will. Article 11 Obligations of Members 1. Abide by these Articles of Association, implement the resolution of CHMIA and maintain the common interests of the heavy machinery industry. 2. Take an active part in the various activities of heavy machinery industry and make efforts to carry out the tasks assigned by CHMIA. 3. Actively convey the enterprise situation to CHMIA, put forward suggestions and provide relevant information. 4. Observe rules and regulations of heavy machinery industry, do not organize nor take part in any activities detrimental to CHMIA. 5. Pay membership dues in time according to requirement. Article 12 Any member that desires to quit from CHMIA must give a written notice to the Sub Association and return the membership certificate. Upon examination and approval by the Sub Association, the quit notice must be submitted to CHMIA for cancellation of registration. Any member that fails to pay membership dues or fails to take part in the activities of CHMIA for one year shall be deemed to have quitted CHMIA voluntarily. Article 13 Any member that fails to perform
his obligations, does not take part for many times without reasons in
the activities organized by CHMIA, or seriously violates the common interest
of heavy machinery industry, shall be suspended or cancelled its membership
after the Sub Association discusses and approves it and reports it to
CHMIA for the record. |
